God cares about community and says, “Love your neighbor as if your neighbor were your very self.” We know when someone hurts us. But, we seldom feel how our demeanor, words and actions have hurt another. We need two antennas to get clear reception. We already have one tuned to us, but we need one tuned to others. If we are to take community seriously, we must be sensitive to how our actions come across to our neighbor.
“You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD” Leviticus 19:18 (NASB)
