The blind man had spent his life asking for coins, but his life was forever changed when he asked Jesus for mercy.  Too many spend their lives making a living and never live.  They come to the end of their lives and realize that it was for naught.  Jesus becomes for all who call on Him a turning point when life can start in a whole new direction.  In that moment we receive our sight, the lost is found and the chained are free.

“Then they came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road. When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!’” Mark 10:46-47 (NASB)
