The disciples made the kingdom about them when they asked to sit on Jesus’ right hand and on the left. Jesus is center, but they still wanted to be the ones that flanked Him, and be seen as the ones closest to Him. Our attitude must be, “I am not worthy. Make me your slave. Let me be unknown if He can be known. Let me sit in the lowest place. Let me be humiliated if He can be exalted.” This is what true kingdom citizens look like.
“They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory. But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” Mark 10:37-38 (KJV)
