Jesus taught us to ask, “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Trespasses are when you have crossed a line and go where you should not have gone. It is to go from Eden’s bounty over to forbidden fruit. It is to try to be your own god. It is to go against love. All of us, at one time or another have crossed the trespass line. We are to look for more than forgiveness; we are to learn from our sins and failure to live a life in harmony with what the Father expects of us. Wanting to please the Father is a great motive to repeatedly getting it right.
