We travel with lots of baggage. We carry things that would be better left behind. We cannot get through the eye of the needle with all the freight of a camel caravan. Weights keep us from winning races. I heard Karen Dean Fry say, “The lighter you travel, the further you can go in His name.” Because of the One we represent, and because of our desire to advance His cause, we are motivated to travel light and go the distance. Stay disentangled! Keep your eyes on the Prize!
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.” Hebrews 12:1-2a (NRSV)
