We translate the Bible to our peers by the life we live. Some of our translations are not true to the text. Some are distorted, robbing the text of its real meaning. The Bible is summed up by loving God with our whole being and our neighbor as ourselves. That is the big message. That is the total message. Living only for ourselves and being self-centered means the message is never heard through us. The Bible points to and is fulfilled in Jesus, who is Himself the infallible Word. It is our assignment to live out our baptism in flesh and blood before our neighbors and peers.
“Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:3-4 (ESV)
