Jesus came by incarnation as Emmanuel to restore His creation and creatures with the life of Heaven. After He ascended, He gave the baptismal pouring of His Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:4, 33). This means that we have available to us the very Spirit of the One who came from Heaven. We need the constant refillings of the life of Heaven with which to touch the world. We are not ready to rightly touch this world until we have been touched by the Heavenly Dove.
“And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:31 (NASB)
