God is to be adored – not because He needs to be, but because we have the need. It frames our lowliness against the backdrop of God’s greatness. It strikes down our pride so we can behold His majesty. It keeps us in our place. Glimpse the universe with its billions of galaxies and the complexity of every atom in it, and know that God is greater than all He has made. Adoration of God is health to our soul. To delight in Him is to discover both meaning and joy!
“Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.” 1 Chronicles 16:23-26 (NIV)
