Our thoughts make or break us. The mind is where the battlefield is; it is where we win or lose. Our actions flow from our thoughts, be they pondered, or occurring in a split second. Jesus said adultery is as much consenting in one’s mind to the thought as doing the action. He taught that hate is equal to murder. There is a difference between a bad thought that enters our mind and we dismiss it to one that enters our mind and we entertain it. A thought can come from our past experiences; it can come from the battering of our mind by media. Bad thoughts come with baggage, disinvite them to your mind. Send them with their baggage away from your house. Discipline your thinking.
“For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” (Mark 7:21–23 ESV)
