As ancient Israel was tested by their wilderness experience, so we also will be tested by our wilderness experiences. As Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, so are we. Wilderness times repeat themselves in our lives. It is not the place we want to settle and stay. It is a place of preparation that we pass through. E. Stanley Jones said, “Don’t try to make a home out of a half way house.” Let God move you through. He will bring you through the test to a better place and better days.
“And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail” Isaiah 58:11 (NASB).
