The cross with its crucified Messiah is something that happens for us; it is also something that must happen in us.  It must reshape our lives, affecting how we live in the world and how we view reality itself.  His death for me and my death in Him will not only alter how I see everything, it will alter who I am as a person in sanctifying ways.  Cruciform living is the way to growth and our spiritual formation.

“I am crucified with Christ.  I am, however, alive – but it isn’t me any longer; it’s the Messiah who lives in me.  And the life I do still live in the flesh I live within the faithfulness of the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 (Kingdom NT)
