In the cross Jesus was humiliated; in the resurrection He was exalted.  In the cross we see suffering and brokenness; in the resurrection we see healing and wholeness. In the cross He was the rejected and mocked king.  In the resurrection He is enthroned as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  He transformed the garden tomb from a place of weeping to a place of rejoicing.  The cross and resurrection make up the two halves of our spiritual formation.  We go through suffering to wholeness, weeping to rejoicing, pain to healing.  The cross and resurrection are pictures of the great turnaround; never forget this in the difficult times of your life.

“This is a sure thing: If we die with him, we’ll live with him; If we stick it out with him, we’ll rule with him; If we turn our backs on him, he’ll turn his back on us;  If we give up on him, he does not give up— for there’s no way he can be false to himself” 2 Timothy 2:11-13 (MSG).
