The Jewish shepherds came to Messiah first; two years later Gentile Magi came. The gospel went out first to the Jews and then to all the world. The gospel is the good news that the promised Messiah of the Jews is, in fact, Lord of the whole earth, which includes Gentiles. There are to be no strangers, foreigners and aliens who are not included. All are invited to eat bread in the Kingdom of God. The Holy Universal (Catholic) Church is rooted in the universal invitation. We who received such a generous invitation must extend it with the same generosity.
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17 (KJV)
