We do not own Christ. He does not restrict His work to Christians only. Prevenient grace goes out to all mankind = the Holy Spirit works in all human hearts = the Universal Christ is drawing all persons to Himself. Jesus Christ is Lord of all (Acts 10:36). There is “One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all” Ephesians 4:6 (NRSV). “In all”! Believing this changes how we see Christ. We must move beyond our tribal, local, provincial Christ to the Universal Christ who is in conquest of the whole world (Isaiah 11:9, Psalm 2, Zechariah 9:9-10). As we go, at home or abroad, know that He is already at work in every person you encounter.
