“When we shall see Him, there is no beauty the we should desire Him” (Isaiah 53:2).  We want an air brushed, photo-shopped Jesus, the one who will sweep us away with His charisma.  He did not come to serve the gods of beauty or the cult of personality.  He is not a super hero.  He came so common that it set off no “Wows!”  He is one of us.  He is one with us.  That is a kind of solidarity expressing a kind of love that we cannot imagine.  This kind of love is what draws us to Him.  It gives us redemption and purpose.  Beautiful Savior!
