One of the hardest things we have to do is let go of bad teaching about God and the Christian faith; it is so deeply entrenched in our psyche with our vested interest in it, that we can’t turn it loose. Our personal views of the faith evolves over time. When the Word Himself leads us we make progress. We can never encapsulate in our minds the greatness of Truth, but we can certainly allow our horizons to expand and our understanding to deepen. The renewal of our mind includes deeper knowledge, changing our attitudes, and putting Truth into practice.
