Jesus struggled in Gethsemane.  Hebrews said that there was “loud crying and tears”.  His brow was coursed by sweating blood.  No angels came to save Him from what was ahead.  T. W. Willingham said, “The struggle does not invalidate the consecration.”  What matters is to come out at the end of the struggle still totally consecrated to our God.  Never mind your questions!  Say, “Not my will but Thy will be done”.  Then arise from your prayer to be betrayed, arrested, tried and crucified.

“Get up, let us be going. See, my betrayer is at hand.” Matthew 26:46 (NRSV)
