A truly spiritual person can love the sinner without feeling degraded. They can condescend to men of low estate without feeling put down. They can serve the poorest of the poor without feeling put upon. The pseudo spiritual is stressed by these things, because he has to leave his ivory tower of self congratulation and come down to where people live. The spiritual person is out for the glory of God and not for the glory of himself.
“Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself” Galatians 6:1-3 (NASB)
