The spirit of the Kingdom is shaped by the Spirit of the Kingdom. It is seen in the fruit of the Spirit, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Gal 5:22-23). The spirit of the Kingdom is also seen in “righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom 14:17). A divisive spirit is not the inclusive spirit of the Kingdom, where “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Gal 3:28). When the spirit of the Kingdom has gripped us as its citizens, it will affect how we relate to each other and the issues of the day.
