By the Spirit we need to put to death anything in our lives that needs to die. The reason the Spirit of Life aids in this business of death is so that we might live. The seed must die for the plant to come forth. It is the grace of the Spirit that aids us in cross carrying. His fruit of “self-control” is first expressed as self-denial. Do not protest this death; the Spirit will enable you to surrender up everything that has to go. There is more of it than you thought. Oh, Spirit of Life, enable me to die in all the places that are preventing fullness of life. Amen!
