The God of Israel was often contrasted to idols that could not speak. Ours is a speaking God. The highest representation of this is when the Word was made flesh and tabernacled among us (John 1:14). Look at Jesus and you will see the speaking God. Watch Him and you will hear what God is saying. Follow Him and you will become like Him. Trust in Him and the Word will shape your story into something that makes sense.
“The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.” Psalm 135:15-18 (NIV)
