In times when your world is falling apart, prayer can be a real sanctuary. It is not a place to bury your head in the sand or a place of denying reality. But it is a place of refuge and a place where strength can be renewed. It is a place of being kept by mercy and grace in the tent of the Lord. Things outside may not change for awhile, but in being alone with God, we are strengthened, renewed in faith and empowered to live our lives for God’s glory in the midst of trouble.
“For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.” Psalm 27:5 (NLT)
