Have you found a daily dying that is a daily living? Have you found a giving up of self that is a finding of self? Have you learned that embracing your cross is embracing your resurrection? This is all paradox. This is also the secret of the Christian life. It is not an abstract spirituality, but actions that are connected with the daily trials of our life which test us. We don’t get to be spiritual in isolation from the problems of life. We learn true spirituality where the rubber meets the road.
“Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:11-13 (NASB)
