God raised Jesus from the dead as the first fruits of promised new creation. We look at the resurrected Jesus and see what our new bodies will be. His resurrection foreshadows our future transformation. Just as Jesus’ former body was transformed into a new body when he came out of His grave, so our bodies too will undergo transformation at the sound of the last trumpet. Hold on! Hold steady! Your body awaits a glorious new creation.
“Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (NASB)
