The first sign that Jesus showed Thomas was that He was there earlier and had been a witness to his conversation about what he must see to believe. Our Christ is the unseen guest at every gathering; the silent witness to every idle word. He always hears what we say. Words have a life of their own when they are spoken. Words are important even if they are mumbled to ourselves in our self talk. Risen Christ, help me watch my words.
