Those who have studied the lives of great Christians are struck by the fact that there came a crisis and/or decision after their conversion to surrender all, and be filled with the Spirit.  There are several books that have collections of these stories. Billy Graham, D.L. Moody, E. Stanley Jones  and thousands of others have shared that testimony.  Some speak of a deeper surrender, the fullness of the Spirit.  The Keswicks promoted this in conventions and conferences around the world.  The American Methodists promoted it in camp meetings.  All have promoted it not as something for super Christians but something meant to be the normal Christian life.

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (NASB)
