The first evangels of the resurrection, the very first ones to bring the good news, were women. Five or more women were chosen by God for this important mission. The men thought that the witness of these women disciples was “nonsense.” Jesus later reproved the men for not believing those first reports (Mk 16:14). Don’t despise the message because of who the Lord chooses to deliver it. “He is risen!” Let everyone run with the message.
“Now they were Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James; also the other women with them were telling these things to the apostles. But these words appeared to them as nonsense, and they would not believe them” Luke 24:10-11 (NASB).
“But also some women among us amazed us. When they were at the tomb early in the morning, and did not find His body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive” Luke 24:22-23 (NASB).
