The Lordship of Christ demands certain things of us. It ultimately demands that we give up our claim to ourselves in favor of His claim on us. To do that gladly, without reluctance, regret or hesitation, is the source of joy. The accuser tells us that this will be our destruction, annihilation, and unhappiness. The father of lies tells us that the demands of Christ are unreasonable and unfair. Satan’s way ends in death, Christ’s way in life.
