Yours the Kingdom
“Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever” (Matthew 6:14). This ending does not occur in the other gospels though it was a customary ending to prayer used at that time. It is certainly in harmony with the whole. Just as this prayer begins with “Hallowed by thy name” it ends with this re-affirmation of the greatness of God. Prayer is not to be all petitions as in “give, forgive, lead, deliver, etc.”. It is to be worship of an awesome and holy God above any petitions that we might ask Him. Praise is to be the key note and the end note of our prayers
