Many times we have repeated the wonderful promise of Jesus, “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” Matt 18:20 (NKJV). We find it is a divine claim when we connect it to OT passages, which declare, “I will dwell in your midst.” God as Spirit truly does dwell among His people. This is at once an OT promise fulfilled and Jesus’ promise of resurrection. As the Lord dwelt in the Tent of Meeting, in the midst of His people in the wilderness, so He now dwells with congregating believers. God dwells with us collectively in a different way than He does individually. Gather with His people and experience Presence!
“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the LORD. Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.” Zech 2:10-11 (NKJV)
