When I am looking for a brown sock, I will often think I have found it until I hold it up to the light.  Some of our thoughts, opinions and actions seem right and good, that is, until we hold them up to God’s word. More importantly, there is the light of the One who is Light.  Let Christ’s Light shine on your thoughts, and see what color they are.  Hold your actions and reactions up to the man of Galilee to see their hue.  Let the One who “is the image of the invisible God” shine on you to reveal any un-Christlikeness in you. The Light of Christ will not fail to show things as they really are.

“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 (NIV)
