Jesus’ teaching on the Kingdom of God is directing us in how we are to be and act in the world. The Kingdom way is the Christian way. It is the Government we live under and the values we espouse. Citizens of the Kingdom cannot glorify another way of living in the world. It calls into question whether or not we truly believe that the Kingdom way is the superior way of living in the world.
“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my followers would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here.’” John 18:36 (NRSV)
