Isaiah 58:5-7 (NIV) “Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter–– when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?”
There have been great people movements throughout history. Even at this present time people who are running from war, famine, drought, gangs and drug cartels are looking for a hospitable place that will provide them safety, jobs and a new future. Skyrocketing housing costs in some cities have forced the fully employed to live in their cars or on the street as homeless. Being a part of the solution is also fasting. Be hospitable. Be available. This may start by putting yourselves in their shoes.
