Isaiah 58:7 (NIV) Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter– when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Sharing their food with the hungry is a vision that God has for His people. It may be to share out of your abundance. It may be to share out of your meager means. Oftentimes the poor are more likely to give than the rich. Sharing suggests a common humanity; it looks and sees the needs of another. It is moved with compassion toward human need enough to do something about it. Most schools now have to organize creative ways to feed their students because there is no food to eat at home. Open your eyes. Open your heart. Be involved.
