“He has sent me to…grant recovery of sight for the blind” (Luke 4:18).
John records for us the story of the man who was born blind (chapter 9). The whole passage is about Jesus coming to be the Light of the World by healing the blind man, evidence of His Messiahship. In another case Jesus talked about blindness being eyes that have been willfully closed to truth. Jesus would like to heal us from a self-inflicted blindness due to our unwillingness to come to the Light. The Word of God is a lamp to our path and the Living Word shows us how to reflect His light to the blind around us.
