“He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.” (Matthew 13:33 NRSV). Yeast makes good bread. How does it work? Yeast is unseen, and may go unnoticed. It even acts in somewhat of a subversive way. When it permeates it changes the structure of things. The culture needs it. The people of God need to be it. When it gets into humans, institutions and even governments it makes them different than they were before. Be the yeast of the Kingdom of God and let it infect your world.
