“Do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?” 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NASB). If King Jesus is in us, the Kingdom of God is in us. It is not only in us but it is in our midst (Luke 17:20-21). It exists alongside the governments of this world but it is above them all. They are accountable to it. When we declare, “Jesus is Lord”, we are declaring our ultimate loyalty. It means that our personal goal is to submit fully to the Lordship of Jesus. It means that the Kingdom has come. Has this become our worldview enough that we are looking to and promoting God’s government? Do we grasp how utterly radical it is to say, “Jesus Messiah is in you”?
“The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.” Luke 17:20b-21 (NASB)
