The indwelling of the Christ in our hearts is not magical; it is relational.  He dwells with us, not for us to use Him for our ends, but He dwells in us to make us His partners in mission.  We often say, “Lord, use me.”  I understand it; I have said it.  He does use us, but wants our participation.  He wants us to be workers together with Him.  We must not be satisfied with a mere subconscious indwelling but we must seek conscious communication. This relationship needs to be cultivated; there needs to be attentive listening.

“That is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:26-27 (NASB)
