The God who is great became little.
The One who is everything became unknown.
The One who is Holy made Himself of no reputation.
The God who fills all things filled the Virgin’s womb.
The Architect of the universe lay in a crude animal trough.
The Ultimate One became insignificant.
The Most High stooped to the lowest.
The Majestic One rode a donkey.
The Rich One became a pauper.
The King of all became the servant of all.
The King became a man, a slave, a cross-bearer.
The King’s throne was a cross, His crown was thorns.
The King forever reigns. His kingdom will have no end.
“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Philippians 2:5-8 (NASB)
