The church has fractured into thousands of sects because of our private interpretations of Scripture. The long history of Christian tradition is set aside because we are puffed up with our own knowledge. Sectarians see all others as false or imperfect teachers. The Spirit and the interpretation are not our private property. We have traded God’s mystery for our certainty. We have simplified truth so we can own it, control it and dispense it. We claim our truth as “all truth”. Naivety! Vanity! Truth and Wisdom are names of the Son. He teaches His church through the Spirit. The church needs ears to hear the Teacher (Rev 2 & 3).
“Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.” James 3:1-2 (NASB)
