The heart has a throne. The only One who should be on that throne is the Creator Himself. There are a thousand ways that we can climb up and put ourselves on the throne. There are a thousand gods that would like for us to empower them to take Him down. To proclaim Jesus as Lord is to accept the enthronement of our Creator. Sanctification is the life process by which we keep pushing back any idol, including ourselves, that would rival His Lordship. Jesus is my King!
