To live the Jesus way is to live with the grain of the universe. Creation was made to function in a certain way. To go against the grain of creation is more than getting splinters in our hand. It is to go against the way God meant things to be. Go against the grain of love and it will hurt you. Go against forgiveness and you will get bitter. Go against peace and you will live with disharmony. Humans are designed for God as surely as male and female are anatomically designed for each other. That’s the grain. Sin goes against things as they were meant to be and pays the price.
