The Holy Spirit becomes in us, “A well of water springing up to eternal life (Jn 4:14).” We cannot separate eternal life from the indwelling Spirit. It was the Spirit that gave life to clay when humanity was born. It is the Spirit that gives life to the body of Christ, the Church. It is the Spirit that brings life to the individual believer. This Spirit that raised Jesus to life lives in us to bring us the eternal life that is in Christ. The Spirit is the Breath of God, which we need for our every breath. He is the Life of the soul. It is the Spirit that makes our spirit live.
