The scattering of the early disciples did not end the church; it just scattered the seed even farther. When they were no longer welcome in the temple and synagogues, they went into all the world. When they couldn’t get together in the customary places they met in homes. The message so consumed them that they would not be silenced by the ruling powers. Neither did they allow the prevailing culture to squeeze them into its mold; it demanded their silence, but they could not stop speaking.
“But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went.” Acts 8:4 (NLT)
