“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3). Hear it, “Where I am, there you may be also.” Jesus is the reward; it is not heaven, a crown, nor a city with gold streets. Jesus is the heavenly place. He is our home. He is the desired destination. Every other desire is some form of idolatry. Oh, there will be a “place”, but He is what makes “home” home. Without Him it is an empty house. When we are with Him it creates the place; our eyes are not on the place but on His face. —“Build On The Rock”, by H. Lamar Smith
