Do not live in fear of being under a curse. Remember that one cannot curse what God has blessed. It is illustrated in the OT story of Balaam and Balak (Nu 23-24). When Balaam opened his mouth to pronounce a curse on Israel, a blessing flowed out in its place. Jesus became a curse for us, and in Him we are truly blessed. He takes the fear of any curse away. He replaces the curse with a blessing, the great blessing of the gift of the Spirit, which is nothing less than the gift of Himself.
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree’— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14 (ESV)
