Righteousness Is living right as God defines right. Righteousness is treating others as we would like to be treated. Righteousness Is treating others as God has treated us. We have a duty to our fellow humans to be as generous with each other as our Father has been to us. To show the same kind of love, forgiveness and mercy that He has shown us. In the Bible, a person is seen as righteous who responds to the needy or oppressed in acts of mercy and compassion or who takes up a just cause for rescue of the needy and the downtrodden. To say it in street terminology, righteousness is helping folks that need help. It is serving folks who need to be served. They are everywhere; they are all around us, if we can just take a serious look around. Lord, open our eyes!
“O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8 ESV).
