“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1 (KJV). “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son” Hebrews 1:1-2a (ESV). God’s final authoritative Word is a person named Jesus of Nazareth. He embodies all that God wants to say to us. His teachings and person fills full all the old writings. The purpose of the Bible is to faithfully reveal to us Christ, the infallible Word. The Bible, through the Spirit of the Word, faithfully reveals Him to us. We study the Bible to study Jesus.
