The sinful self does not want to be crucified. It will beg for its life. It will tell you that if it dies, you will cease to be you. It will tell you that if you put it to death that you will destroy everything that makes you yourself. If you listen to that line, you will never go through with it. You will keep delaying it Putting off this death is putting off life. Take up your cross. Have no sympathy for the pleas and begging of the sinful self. You can be free. You will live life more fully than you ever dreamed!
