Day and night the Accuser runs us down to God. His runs us down in those recordings that play in our mind. He especially loves it when he can get other human voices to attack us with hurtful and degrading words. He cannot pluck us out of God’s hand, even as much as he would like to. For those who have entered into solidarity with Christ, there is no charge he can bring against “God’s elect”. The Father has affirmed you as His child; the only thing the Accuser can do is to try to undermine that confidence.
“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” Revelation 12:10-12 (NIV)
